The public is invited to come to use our range. It is located near the east end of Jefferson Parkway, under the new water tower. Come and join the fun anytime during daylight hours. No broadheads please.

Accomplishments

In 2008 our Club was recognized with two outstanding awards. The first was the Healthy Community Initiative Award given to our club by the Healthy Community Initiative and the Northfield News cooperatively. The award is called “Making A Difference” with our area youth.

Our second recognition was from the Minnesota Community Education Association. CRSC was recognized at their annual conference in Duluth as the MCEA Outstanding Organization.. This honor was awarded on the basis of achievement, cooperation and teamwork, use of resources and community impact. We were very impressed with the banquet and appreciated all the attention and recognition the MCEA gave to our club.

We believe we have “touched” the lives of approximately 4,000 area youth and adults since our club’s inception. Our mission is providing meaningful outdoor experiences to the Northfield Community, especially our area youth. Some of our projects in recent years have been:

  • Scholarships for youth and family camps at Eagle Bluff at Lanesboro
  • Introduce a kid to fishing – age 6-12 – enjoy learning and practicing fishing skills
  • MN Firearms and Safety training course – age 11–adult
  • Introduction to trap shooting – age 12-adult
  • Project ABLE scholarships for disabled youth to participate in outdoor activities
  • Northfield High School Senior – $500.00 grant to be used for career outdoor education
  • Members participate in Northfield’s “After Prom Party” throughout the night
  • Introduction to fly fishing- wonderful event teaching adults the sport of fly fishing
  • Area wide annual Crappie Tournament at Cedar Lake enjoyed by hundreds over the years
  • Archery in the Schools Program – donating equipment and volunteering time at NHS
  • CRSC has recently opened an outdoor archery park for Northfield residents
  • CRSC has been a provider and partner in projects at Phillipo Boy Scout Camp
  • Planting a wildlife area forest plot in rural Northfield
